This was our 16th cruise, the 6th with Celebrity. The cruise itself and ports of call were outstanding. Made more so by Brent Nixon whom we were privileged to have on board the entire cruise.

Embarkation process was a breeze, as opposed to the disembarkation which was delayed by 1 hour in Vancouver, our first ever experience of this. This caused us some concern as we had a post-tour booked independently. However, we realised this was beyond Celebrity’s control.

On board the service was as we have come to expect from Celebrity, the staff really trying to do everything they could for us. Foodwise, excellent both in the Oceanview and main dining room with the exception of the last formal night. We had tossed up whether to go to the Tuscan Grille or choose to stay in the main dining room as it was our 39th wedding anniversary. The maitre d’ encouraged us to stay in the dining room as it was to be a special evening, and from what we have experienced in the past, well worth staying for. We wished however we hadn’t taken his advice as the evening was very disappointing, not what we have come to expect of Celebrity at all. There were clearly issues with the waiting staff and/or galley, because it was the worst ever service, and nothing special at all. To boot that evening the food was mediocre. It was the only evening he didn’t show up at our table, which must tell you something.

Excellent location midships near the elevators. We always choose this location to cut the time walking along passages, and as most of the activities are in this area of the ship, we can get to wherever easily and quickly. There is no noise at all from the elevators and the view from the balcony is unobstructed as it is in the bulge of the ship.
