Sail Date: Dec 2014

I arrived back a few days ago from a cruise with a friend on this ship for seven nights, I have to say it was a rather disappointing trip, having cruised with Thomson many times before I had no worries about booking with them again, unfortunately this was not the case, Thomson are slipping in there hospitality and service standards.

Crew: On my previous cruises I have always found the staff to be fantastic, unfortunately this was not the case, by far the worst team were reception, many of them could barley crack a smile and I find them rude and arrogant. The on-board entertainment was hit and miss, in particular the daytime entertainment reminded me of being in a holiday camp many years ago , the comedian was awful and you could only really relate to his jokes if you were over 60, if your younger than this don't bother! About 50% of the waiters/waitresses looked happy to be there, everyone else looked very miserable and were not very hospitable. The best team members by far were the house keeping department who worked so hard for very little praise.

The Ship: Prior to going on-board I was a little nervous as this ship has been involved in two accidents killing both passengers and crew, When she was the Louis Majesty a wave broke a window at the front of the ship and this killed two passengers and in 2013 a lifeboat cable snapped when crew members were in it during training, the lifeboat fell into the sea trapping them and killing at least five (For full detail's Google the reports, they are well documented)

Cabin Review

Cabin Suite (Balcony)

We upgraded to a suite once on-board, my advice on this ship....don't! We were allocated a cabin on deck 9 and its very noisy with tables, chairs, and trolleys being moved around on the deck above, and this goes on til the early hours of the morning. Yes you do get more space and a fresh bowl of fruit every day! But it's really not worth the money.
